Gad's Background

Gad Shimron was a member of various operative units of the Mossad. He was instrumental in the rescue of the Ethiopian Jews out of Sudan and Ethiopia and bringing them to Israel, famously known as "Operation Brothers." The script for The Red Sea Diving Resort, a 2019 spy thriller film by Netflix, was loosely based on an the mission, and listeners of SPYSCAPE's True Spies podcast series know the mind bending story as told by Gad in episode #1: Operation Brothers (link below).

Gad is also the former foreign news editor, security analyst and commentator at Maariv, one of Israel's leading dailies, and during the 90s, he served as the European correspondent for the Israeli daily newspaper.
